Six
Senses Resorts & Spas has made the following appointments.
Costas N. Vafopoulos CHA, MHCIMA, has joined Six Senses Resorts & Spas as Managing Director
- Americas.
Costas comes to Six Senses following an eight-year tenure as Vice President & Chief Operating Officer – Ayala Hotel Inc, where he was based in Makati, Philippines. He
previously spent five years as Chief Operating Officer of Guoman International Hotels & Resorts, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A three-year tenure as Project Director with
Swissôtel, North America, as Project Development Americas, which was preceded with six years in hotel and project management roles with Holiday Inns Inc., U.S.
and International, and Grand Metropolitan Hotels in Greece.
His earlier hospitality career roles were in London, Athens, Villars, Panama, Tripoli and Arveyes. Costas graduated from the Hotel School at the Institute lntemationale de
Glion, Switzerland; and received letters from the Educational Institute AH & MA, USA; and the Hotel Catering and Institutional Management Association, UK. He speaks
English, French, Spanish, Italian, Greek and Arabic languages.
Costas will be based in West Palm Beach Florida.
Jeanne Ozorio has joined Six Senses Resorts & Spas as Financial Controller – Operations, assisting the Group Financial Controller. Her previous role was Group
Financial Controller of Igor's group, which runs a chain of 14 restaurants in Hong Kong, having left the Marco Polo group after 9 years of service.
Jeanne joined the Marco Polo group as Financial Controller at Jakarta’s Omni Batavia - Indonesia in 1996 and was subsequently transferred to Hong Kong as Internal
Auditor. In 2001, she was promoted to the role of Group Chief Accountant and was responsible for the group accounts and consolidation, in addition to assisting in the
preparation of budgets.
She attended university in Regina, Canada and holds a degree in Accounts and Finance.
Jeanne is based in Six Senses’ Bangkok Hub.
Cholayut (Joe) Surachettapong has taken the role of Director of Sales- Thailand, supporting Evason Phuket Resort, Evason Hua Hin Resort, Sila Evason Hideaway at
Samui, and Evason Hideaway at Hua Hin.
Joe
joins Six Senses from a two year stint at the Hua Hin Marriott Resort, following a three year tenure with Bangkok’s D’Ma Pavilion Hotel during its affiliation with Six
Senses. His hospitality career began as a Trainee at the Savoy Hotel in London, and continued in his native Thailand, in Bangkok and Chiang Mai. He ventured from
hospitality for a brief period when he was appointed the General Manager of a Thai trading company – Tremendous Products.
Joe brings to this role a wealth of experience earned during a decade of traveling extensively throughout Europe, the US and Australasia, successfully representing
hotels and resorts. He has a Bachelor of Arts – Communications from Bangkok University, and a Diploma A.H.M.A.-Hotel Management from Cavendish College,
London.
Joe is based at Six Senses’ Bangkok Hub..
