InterContinental Hotels Group
has signed a management contract with Jordan’s Social Security Corporation for the 420-room Crowne Plaza and 202-room
Holdiay Inn, thereby increasing the company’s portfolio to 8 properties in the Kingdom.
The Crowne Plaza, will be built on a 70,000 square metre site and offer a wide range of facilities, including meeting and
conference rooms, ballroom and meetings rooms, a widespread swimming, health spa, restaurants tennis courts and playgrounds for children.
The Holiday Inn is to be built on a 41,000 square metre site and consist of 74 rooms, 128 chalets, meetings rooms, various restaurants, a health spa, swimming pools and
playing fields for children.
Dr. Khalid al Wazani, General Manager of Social Security Corporation believes that "these two projects will further emphasize the strategy of the corporation in
enhancing its tourism investments not only on the shores of the Dead Sea, but also inland. This initiative will serve to create further job opportunities for the Jordanian
people".
Already in Jordan, InterContinental Hotels Group manages the InterContinental Jordan, the newly opened InterContinental Aqaba, the Crowne Plaza Amman, the
Crowne Plaza Resort Petra and the Holiday Inn Amman, out of a total of 63 hotels and resorts under management in the Middle East.
