Cendant appoints Gorin as Regional Market Development Director for Asia

Cendant Travel Distribution Services (TDS) has appointed Mr. Marco Gorin as the Regional Market Development Director for Asia.

Reporting directly to Mr. Mark Rizzuto, Managing Director, Asia, Cendant TDS, Marco will have responsibility for developing and managing of new business opportunities achieving profitability and capital management goals for the GDS business across a portfolio of countries within the Asia region. He will also support business development opportunities through commercial partnership arrangements, including cross Cendant opportunities, and/or joint ventures.

“We are pleased to have Marco join our team and are confident that he will be continue to expand our strong brand portfolio,” said Mark Rizzuto. “He has a proven track record in the industry as well as in the sales and marketing arena.”

“This is a great time to join the company as the market is beginning to realize that we are much more than Galileo, a Global Distribution System, helping agents to book and sell travel. We go well beyond distribution by aggregating and delivering content through a single entity, which is Cendant TDS,” Mark added.

Echoing Mark’s comments, Marco said, “These are extremely exciting times for the global travel industry. Cendant TDS has set ambitious goals for itself and is rapidly becoming the market leader. It is an excellent time to join Cendant TDS and I am ready for the challenges that lay ahead.”

Most recently, Marco served as Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing for Galaxy Distribution Systems where he was responsible for the company’s global sales and marketing programs, facilitating client development through sales and developing client service programs.

Prior to joining Galaxy in 2002, Marco worked at Consensus Economics Inc., Huron University USA in London and the United States International University.

Marco earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Huron University in 1996 and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Studies/Administration/Management from Huron University in London. Marco is fluent in Italian and English. He has lived and worked in Italy, United Kingdom, Malaysia and Thailand.
