Dusit has announced that it is aiming to reopen the dusitD2 Nairobi hotel in June 2019. The hotel was closed on 15 January 2019 following an attack by Somali militants which claimed the lives of 21 innocent people. In addition to the hotel, the 14 Riverside complex in Nairobis exclusive Westlands neighbourhood houses restaurants, shops, and offices.

One of Korean Airs volunteer groups were in Manado, Indonesia from 31 January to 5 February to help a local community there. The airlines employees visited Yettrang, an underprivileged village with a high poverty rate and no education or welfare benefits.

InterContinental Hotels Group has signed a franchise agreement with CL Capital to debut voco, IHGs new upscale brand, in Solihull, England. The hotel will be managed by Kew Green Hotels (KGH) and will be the second voco property in the UK, following the opening of voco St. Davids in Cardiff, Wales.
