Boosted by strong Chinese New Year (CNY) traffic, Hong Kong International Airport saw its January 2012 passenger numbers and aircraft movements rise by 12.5% and 5.8% respectively to 4.9 million and 29,000. A new daily record of approximately 187,000 passengers was also registered on 28 January, the sixth day of CNY.

AirAsia has revised its check-in baggage fees. Effective today, AirAsia has reduced the prices of the 15kg and 20kg baggage tiers while its long-haul affiliate AirAsia X has reduced the prices of the 25kg and 30kg baggage tiers.
