Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Videos Tuesday, 21 February 2012

Starwood is further entrenching its position as a key MICE player in Bali with the opening of three new properties, in addition to upgrading the meetings facilities at its existing properties.

The three new hotels opening this year include the Westin Ubud Resort and Spa Bali; the Sheraton Kuta Bali Resort and the Le Méridien Bali Jimbaran.

All the new properties will have meeting spaces catering to different group sizes and purposes.

With just over 100 guestrooms and 116m2 in meeting space, The Westin Ubud Resort & Spa Bali is ideal for small MICE groups with a niche focus. The Le Méridien Bali Jimbaran will have 160 rooms and 100m2 in meeting space, while the Sheraton Kuta Bali Resort will have over 200 rooms and over 1,100m2 in meeting space, including a ballroom that can accommodate 300 persons in a banquet setting.

Starwood’s other hotels in the popular MICE destination include The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali, The Laguna Resort & Spa, Nusa Dua, Bali, the W Retreat & Spa Bali – Seminyak, and The St. Regis Bali Resort.

Chuck Abbott, Regional Vice President, South East Asia, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore, said, “Meeting planners now have an even more compelling reason to choose Starwood hotels. With the new openings, Starwood is set to become the hotel chain with the largest number of brands represented in Bali. We believe this puts us in a stronger position than any other players in this space because of our ability to cater to the various budgets and objectives of MICE planners as we can now offer them the most choices in terms of accommodation and meeting venues.”
