GKN has appointed David M. Brantner as President Aerospace Division, a new role with global oversight of customer relations, including programme performance and strategic product and technology deployment for sustained growth. He reports to Kevin Cummings Chief Executive, GKN Aerospace.

155. Best Western Signs 41-Room Hotel in Bhutan
Best Western has signed a management agreement for a brand new 41-room hotel in the Bhutans capital, Thimphu. Expected to welcome its first guests in mid-2015, the hotel will join the companys growing collection of Best Western Plus hotels. The hotel will feature a fitness centre, spa, bar, and a terrace lounge with views across Thimphus low-rise skyline.
156. Kempinski to Open Luxury Doha Resort in December
Kempinski has confirmed that its flagship resort - Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl - Doha - will soft-open on 1 December 2014. The city-resort is located on its own secluded island at the iconic The Pearl-Qatar and offers 281 rooms and suites, with meeting-conference facilities including a 1,100 sqm (11,538 sq ft) Grand Ballroom.
157. Amilla Fushi in Maldives to Open December
The Small Maldives Island Co. will open two island resorts in the Maldives over the next twelve months. Located in the UNESCO protected Baa Atoll, Amilla Fushi will launch in December this year, followed by a luxury beach club concept resort called Finolhu in late 2015.
158. SilkAir to Launch Flights to Cairns, Australia
SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, is to launch direct flights between Singapore and Cairns on 30 May 2015, subject to regulatory approvals. SilkAir plans to operate the Cairns service three times weekly on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, through circular routings with Darwin.
159. Accor to Rebrand 826-Room Hotel in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong
The 826-room Park Lane Hotel in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, is to rebrand as a Pullman hotel on 1 January 2015. A full renovation program, which will include a make-over of the Park Lane Suites, executive floors, dining outlets, meeting rooms and executive lounge, has already begun. The hotel also features three restaurants and bars, fourteen meeting rooms with a total of 10,371 sqft.
160. Executive Appointments at Travelport
Kaylene Shuttlewood has joined Travelport as General Manager, Pacific, while incumbent Alex Fitzpatrick will be relocating to Travelport Headquarters in the U.K. to take up a senior role as Head of Global Payments & Settlements Portfolio, starting from December.
