The Hong Kong Rugby Football Union (HKRFU) has made changes to the way it sells the public seats for the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens. Under the new plan, 4,000 tickets will be made available for sale via public ballot. After a seven-week registration period, the ballot will be held on Thursday, 7 February 2013.

The Hong Kong Rugby Union has confirmed that ticket prices for the world-renowned Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens will increase for the first time since 2014. Starting in 2018, prices will be increased by approximately 8% or HK$50 dollars each day, with a full three-day event package retailing for $1950, up from $1,800 in 2017.
