Cebu Pacific is to launch twice weekly flights between Manila and Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam, on 17 March 2012. Flights for this route are scheduled to depart Manila at 22:30 every Tuesday and Saturday, arriving in Hanoi at 00:30. 162. Tune Hotels Signs New Hotel in Ipoh
Tune Hotels has signed an agreement with developer Liew Yin Yin Group for the establishment of the Tune Hotel Ipoh. The new hotel will be part of The Host commercial development on a site belonging to the Ipoh City Council. Located within the vicinity of the city centre, Tune Hotel Ipoh is currently 60% completed and is on track for the March 2012 opening.

The Singapore Airlines Group has reported a net profit of $239 million in the first half of the 2011-12 financial year, $394 million (-62%) lower than the same period a year ago. Operating profit declined to $134 million, $462 million (-78%) lower than the first half of the previous financial year.
164. Rolls-Royce Wins $350m Contract from Hawaiian Airlines
Rolls-Royce has won a $350 million contract from Hawaiian Airlines to deliver Trent 700 engines to power five Airbus A330 aircraft. The order includes TotalCare long-term services support. The aircraft, to be delivered from 2013 to 2015, will add to the airline’s current fleet of five Trent 700-powered A330s and another 12 to be delivered.

166. Transaero Airlines Signs Firm Order for 8 Airbus A320neo
Russia’s Transaero Airlines has signed a firm order for eight Airbus A320neo aircraft following a Memorandum of Understanding signed in August at the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2011 in Moscow. The A320neo (new engine option) is an efficiency improvement package offering up to 15% fuel savings on the A320 Family.

Iberia, one of Spain’s largest air transport groups, has adopted Amadeus Ancillary Services to distribute its ancillary programme to travel agencies. The solution is launching in Spain where travel agents can now offer advanced seat selection to their customers.
