Presented by Reed Business Information Asia

Hear some of the sharpest minds in the events world interviewed by seasoned trade journalist Yeoh Siew Hoon. Leading international conference, exhibition and incentive managers will share their best practices, the hard lessons learnt from the past 18 months, and talk about how they are meeting the changing expectations of attendees and clients in today's climate.

Event Management in a Changing World

Presented by the Australian Society of Association Executives (AuSAE)

For most organizations, meetings are a major source of revenue. In the past this revenue has almost always been assured and relied upon. As our world changes the challenges for event managers are increasing and shifting. In the new political and business environment, delegates are less sanguine about international travel arrangements and the possibility of cancelling or scaling down meetings is now real for organisers.

AuSAE president, Leisa Donlan, will discuss operational details of managing events in a changing environment including suggestions on cancellation policies and procedures, dealing with conference suppliers as partners, ensuring travel in an emergency and protecting your organization or business if things do go wrong that are beyond your control.

Request for Proposal
Presented by European Society of Association Executives (ESAE)

Learn how to develop a well written Request for Proposal (RFP) that will save you time and generate better proposals from suppliers. You can create your RFP in this session and then use it as you meet with suppliers at AIME. Terrance Barkan, managing director of European Association Services, will lead delegates through this practical, hands on workshop.

Marketing for Associations
Presented by John Teres, national executive officer, AuSAE

This session will concentrate on key factors that can make a difference in the success of an organisation's marketing. It includes key marketing concepts that should be in any successful plan. For some this will be a reality check, for others it may be the start of putting together a strategy that works. The session is also of value in the context of this forum. Several of the principles discussed may assist in better negotiating with potential suppliers.

Navigating the Sponsorship Maze
Presented by Mike Turner, author of Critical Funds: Sponsorships in Australia
Sponsorship.

So many want it. So many need it. So few have any real notion of how to get it. Sponsorship seekers have become more sophisticated, more competitive and have far greater expectations. Sponsors have become more skilled, knowledgeable and astute in the use of sponsorship as a legitimate marketing tool. Mike Turner will guide you through the maze that is sponsorship so you can obtain sponsorship and keep it.

The Bare Essentials

This short, sharp, 90 minute session will cover the ‘must do’s’ for organizing meetings efficiently and effectively. Presenter Ray Shaw, is Managing Director of Intermedia Convention and Event Management, one of Australia's largest and most awarded Professional Conference Organizers. Ray will present the basics, brought to life with invaluable first-hand experience.

E=MC2 - Exhibitions Make Conferences Twice as Powerful
Presented by Exhibition & Event Association of Australia (EEAA) (both days)

It’s a fact. The more multi-faceted your conference, the more incentive you create for delegates to attend. And an exhibition, when managed well and marketed appropriately, is a powerful drawcard. This session provides “walk-away” ideas on how to successfully integrate the conference and exhibition, together with an understanding of how an exhibition can improve financial outcomes, expand marketing opportunities, secure healthy registration numbers and gain high-profile industry positioning.

Tomorrow’s Incentives
Presented by Incentive Marketing Association (IMA)

The seminar will show how incentive and loyalty programs are the key to increased profits via reduced marketing costs and an economically expanded customer base. Find out about tomorrow’s strategies and how they can help you reap the benefits of partnerships, alliances and powerful motivational techniques to deliver exceptional results. They are a far cry from most of the programs we see today.

Cutting Edge Concepts
Presented by ICMI Speakers and Entertainers

ICMI will showcase a variety of tangible “cutting edge” ideas that AIME delegates can apply to their own or their client’s business events. Find out how to achieve greater “results orientated” outcomes for your events. Join in and be entertained by Andrew Bayly (Improvise your way to success), team builder Mark McKeon (The Road to 'THE WAY’), Timothy McCallum (Singing the AIME Anthem) and ventriloquist Darren Carr.

Aim right and sell us what we’re buying
Presented by Incentive Marketing Association (IMA)

No hotel or resort operator, airline, tourist office or destination management company will want to miss this seminar. If your business is selling product to the incentive market, then this seminar will provide invaluable customer insights. Maximizing sales in the incentive market depends on reward providers offering the right product to the right buyers. Major incentive buyers will make their needs clear in this concise seminar.
