Mercure Kuta Bali temporarily closed after fire

Travel News Asia 8 October 2002

A small fire that started on the top floor of Mercure Kuta Bali on 7th October at 22.30 pm was quickly extinguished without injury. The fire started in the hotel's Bali spa, but the exact cause has yet to be determined.

Thanks to the quick response of well-trained staff the fire was immediately under control with help from the local fire brigade. No rooms were damaged in the fire nor did any injuries occur. For the comfort of guests management relocated all everyone to a nearby hotel.

The hotel has been secured and is safe. In order to further assess damage and facilitate the quick return to full operation, the hotel will be closed for the coming week.
