Thai Airways International Announces Board Meeting Results

Today (27 November 2002), Thai Airways International Public Company Limited held a Board of Directors' Meeting, chaired by Mr. Thanong Bidaya, THAI's Chairman, with the following results:

Appointment of Strategic Sub-committee

The Board of Directors approved the appointment of a Strategic Sub-committee, acting as a coordinating body between the Board of Directors and President in order to effectively handle current competition in the aviation industry. Members of the Strategic Sub-committee comprise:

1. Mr. Thanong Bidaya Chairman
2. Mr. Chai-anan Samudavanija Vice Chairman
3. Mr. Olarn Chaipravat Director
4. Mr. Vichit Suraphongchai Director
5. Mr. Borwornsak Uwanno Director

Evaluation of the President

The Board of Directors approved successful completion of probation period by Mr. Kanok Abhiradee, President of Thai Airways International, in accordance with a proposal made by the Employment Sub-committee, chaired by Mr. Somchainuk Engtrakul.

Progress of THAI's investment at Suvarnabhumi Airport

The Board of Directors acknowledged the progress of THAI's investment plan at Suvarnabhumi Airport and approved in principle to hire a project management consultant (PMC) to manage this project together with THAI's Office of project development. This project has urgent priority as it must follow a fixed time frame and be completed by June 2005

Payment of dividend

The Board of Directors determined the date of dividend payment, which will be 30 days after the Annual Shareholders' Meeting 2002, scheduled to be held on 20 December 2002 and the closing date is set for 3 January 2003 for the registration of share transfer for the right to receive the dividend.
