Melia Bali Villas & Spa Resort strengthens sales and marketing team

Meliá Bali Villas & Spa Resort today announced the following appointments to its sales and marketing team: Mr Suta Marjaya as Director of Sales, Ms Laurentia Lilis as E-Commerce Sales Manager, Ms Anastasia Lijadi as Marketing & Communication Manager and Mr Ricardo Zafrilla as Spanish Sales Manager.

Mr Suta Marjaya, in his new appointment as Director of Sales, will spearhead all sales-related activities for the five-star beachfront property, and is responsible for the European and North Asian sales accounts. He reports directly to Director of Marketing Ms Sharon Lee.

Mr Suta has more than 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, and has held senior positions with number of Indonesian properties and international hotel chains such as the Bali Dynasty Resort, Hilton and Radisson. His most recent appointment was Director of Sales of Radisson Hotel Sanur-Bali. Mr Suta is a graduate of Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata (Institute of Tourism) in Bali.

Ms Laurentia Lilis, the resort's new E-commerce Sales Manager, is responsible for developing e-commerce and internet bookings as well as overseeing the UK, Australian and New Zealand sales accounts. Ms Lilis joins Meliá Bali Villas & Spa Resort with more than six years of experience in the hospitality industry, specializing in the area of e-commerce. She was previously with indo.com, Indonesia's largest travel portal. Fluent in English and Mandarin, Ms Lilis holds a degree in Hospitality Management from the Katholike University of Brabant in The Netherlands.

Ms Anastasia Lijadi, the new Marketing & Communication Manager, oversees the hotel's sales and marketing communications, loyalty programs and public relations functions. She currently serves as the Chairman of the Association of Hotel's Public Relations in Bali, and was most recently the Public Relations Manager for Bali Hyatt. Ms Anastasia holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Economics from the University of Indonesia, and speaks four languages including English, Italian and Japanese.

Mr Ricardo Zafrilla, the newly-appointed Spanish Sales Manager, is responsible for targeting Spain and Portugal, the Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America as well as MICE businesses originating from those countries. Mr Ricardo has six years of experience in the hospitality industry, specialising in sales, and has spent three years working with Sol Meliá Hotels & Resorts in Spain. He is fluent in Spanish, English, Italian and French.

Other members of Meliá Bali Villas & Spa Resort include:

* Mr Ferry Firmansyah, who has been promoted to Associate Director of Sales responsible for the emerging markets in South Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe as well as MICE accounts.

* Mr Fajar Maulana, who has been named Sales Executive, in charge of Domestic, South East Asia and Russian sales accounts and assisting the regional sales offices in Singapore and Jakarta.

* Ms Namiki Higuma, who has been promoted to Japanese Sales Executive.
