Continental Airlines rewards business travellers with bonus miles toward elite status

Continental Airlines announced improvements to its OnePass program to make it easier for business travelers to earn Elite status. Effective Jan. 1, 2003, customers traveling on an unrestricted, economy class “Y” fare on Continental, Copa or Azteca airlines will receive a 50-percent mileage bonus toward Elite status.

In addition, from Jan. 1 through March 31, 2003, Continental Airlines rolled over its triple segments/points promotion that allows OnePass members traveling on unrestricted fares to earn up to six segments/points per roundtrip toward 2004 Elite status.

Continental’s award-winning OnePass Elite program provides exclusive services for frequent flyers to make travel more rewarding. Elite members receive unlimited complimentary space-available upgrades to first class or business class, and enjoy one of the most generous Elite mileage bonus programs of all carriers. Continental’s OnePass program rewards Platinum members with a 125-percent mileage bonus, Gold members with a 100-percent mileage bonus and Silver members with a 50-percent mileage bonus. The airline also makes it easier for Elite members to gain status in the top tier level of its OnePass program compared to other carriers. Continental’s OnePass members earn Platinum Elite level by flying 75,000 miles or 90 segments/points compared to 100,000 miles or 100 segments required by other airlines.
