Singapore Airlines (SIA) has been named one of Singapore's top brands in the inaugural "Singapore Brand Award 2002" given by International Enterprise Singapore.
This prestigious award is given out to recognise listed companies with the highest brand values and the use of branding as a key strategic tool to differentiate from competition, fortify customer base and to enhance a company's performance.
Accepting the award, Mr Michael Tan, SIA's Senior Executive Vice-President (Commercial), said, "We are honoured to be selected as one of the top brands in Singapore. Ever since its inception in 1972, Singapore Airlines has been paying particular attention to build a strong image and brand as a national airline, to distinguish itself in the international aviation industry. I am heartened indeed that SIA is now recognised and identified as a top airline brand in the world. We will continue to pursue excellence and innovation to strengthen the SIA brand."
SIA, one of the world's leading carriers, serves a global network that spans over 90 destinations in nearly 40 countries. Along with its wholly-owned subsidiary, SilkAir, the Airline operates a modern fleet of over 100 aircraft with direct links to Europe, American, Australia and throughout Asia.
