Malaysia Airlines Adds Capacity On Domestic Routes For Hari Raya Puasa

Malaysia Airlines has mounted a total of 176 extra flights between 29 November 2002 and 15 December 2002 on its domestic network to cater towards the increased demand for seats during the Hari Raya Puasa festive season and year-end school holidays.

The extra flights will be operated as follows:-

Peninsular Malaysia - Sabah vv 76
Kuala Lumpur - Kota Bahru vv 08
Kuala Lumpur - Langkawi vv 04
Kuala Lumpur - Kuala Trengganu vv 02
 
Total 176

An additional capacity of 41, 972 seats is being offered to customers through these extra flights that will be operated using all jet aircraft types in the airline's fleet (B737-400, A330-300, B777-200 & B747-400).

As at today, the booked load factor on Malaysia Airlines' demand flights within Malaysia stands at above 70%, and these extra flights are expected to complement domestic tourism activities as well as encourage Malaysians to visit friends and relatives during the Hari Raya Puasa festive season.

Malaysia Airlines is fully committed to providing sufficient capacity during peak periods to enhance the ongoing efforts towards national integration. It will also continue to honour its social obligation of providing affordable air transportation through extending its various promotional fares on these extra flights.
