Lucinda Semark to take on role as Asia Pacific Vice President of Marketing Brands, for Six Continents Hotels

Six Continents Hotels today announced the promotion of Lucinda Semark to Vice President of Marketing, Brands, Asia Pacific. In her new role, Lucinda will oversee and lead all areas of marketing, consumer demand and revenue generation including strategic marketing and distribution channel strategies, brand marketing, advertising and promotional programs for the company's hotel brands, including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn, in the Asia Pacific region. She will also work closely with Six Continents Hotels Asia Pacific business development team to support the organization's growth strategy in the region.

"In her new position, Lucinda will focus on high-level strategic marketing functions that center on delivering incremental revenues for our business in Asia Pacific. As part of this, she will be responsible for driving strategic marketing to increase guest satisfaction, working closely with our regional hotel marketing and operations management team. Over the past year, Lucinda has effectively driven two of our most high profile initiatives in the region - the reshaping of the Inter-Continental brand and the revitalization of the Holiday Inn brand. She will continue to play a vital role in helping Six Continents Hotels further create a global suite of high growth, high-return hotel brands that are market leaders, enhancing revenues and returns for the hotels in our portfolio," said Richard Hartman, Managing Director, Six Continents Hotels, Asia Pacific.

Prior to her appointment, Lucinda was Director of Strategic Brand Management and Development for Six Continents Hotels Asia Pacific. She will continue to oversee corporate communications, consumer insight and research, competitor intelligence, e-commerce strategy and loyalty marketing.

The following executives will report to Lucinda: Allan Yip, Manager, Brand Marketing, Asia Pacific; Adeline Ee, Manager, Marketing Services, Asia Pacific; Geetha Warrier, Manager, Communications, Asia Pacific; Michael Meade, Regional Director of Marketing, Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific; Lo Young, Regional Director of Marketing, Northern Asia; Jinou Park, Director, Distribution Marketing, Asia Pacific; Casey McDermott, Regional Director, Reservations, Asia Pacific; and Julia Wong, Regional Director, Relationship Marketing, Asia Pacific. 

"Since her appointment, Lucinda has focused on positioning and leveraging Six Continents Hotels' powerful brands, creating a new competitive standard for travel marketing in the region. She led the field in innovative marketing communications and was responsible for consolidating our marketing approach and bringing on core strategic communications partners to further strengthen our brands in the region, " added Mr. Hartman.

Through a truly integrated brand and marketing approach, I believe that we can enhance the brand values and presence of our hotels, which will in turn play a significant role in reinforcing our position as a market and brand leader in the hospitality industry," said Lucinda.

Lucinda joined the hotels division of Six Continents plc in 1999 as a Global Brand Director based in London and brings with her a wealth of brand marketing experience through her previous positions in Britvic Soft Drinks Limited, which is part of Six Continents PLC, and Mars Confectionery. She will continue to be based at the company's Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore reporting to Patrick Imbardelli, Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President, Staff Services.
