Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts announces the appointment of Karen Gray as
director of sales and marketing for North America. Gray, who joined the
company October 7, will be responsible for the sales, marketing and
reservations activities of Shangri-La's North American regional sales
offices.
Based in the Asian luxury hotel group's regional sales office in Los
Angeles, she will drive efforts to establish Shangri-La as the first choice
for business and leisure travelers from the United States and Canada. Her
responsibilities include overseeing the group's promotions, tradeshows and
sales events in North America and managing a team of 12 based in the New
York and Los Angeles regional sales offices. Gray reports to Austin Frost,
director of sales and marketing for Europe, Middle East, North America and
Australia.
Prior to her appointment, Gray spent 11 years as director of sales and
marketing ? national sales office for Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. She also
formerly directed regional sales at Loews Hotels.
With 38 hotels and almost 20,000 rooms in Asia, Shangri-La operates hotels
in the Chinese Mainland, Fiji, Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar,
Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. |
