SOL MELIA LAUNCHES LATEST "EUROPEAN BREAK" PACKAGES

Travellers to Europe can look forward to special packages being offered

throughout the continent by leading European hotel chain, Sol Meli which

has launched their City Break and Weekend & Short Break programmes valid

for 2000. Reservations can be made through local travel agents.



CITY BREAK

The City Break programme is offered for 75 hotels throughout Spain and

Portugal for guests who enjoy the art and culture of major cities. Prices

start >from only 49.28 euros per person per night in a double room for one

or two guests and with one child of up to 12 years of age staying free when

sharing the room with two adults. The offer is available every day of the

week.



WEEKEND AND SHORT BREAK

The Weekend and Short Break programme is aimed at resort lovers. The

package is available throughout 2000 and includes weekend or public holiday

breaks in hotels in Europe from only 23.44 euros per person per night in a

double room. The offer includes bed and breakfast and a free stay for

children up to 12 years of age sharing a room with two adults. Children of

up to 15 years of age in an adjoining room also receive a 50% discount.



Sol Meli, Europe's leading hotel group and the ninth largest hotel company

in the world, has a portfolio of more than 260 city and resort hotels in 28

countries under the brand names of Meli, Sol and Paradisus hotels. The

newest additions to the Group include 10 new properties in Paris, the Meli

Roma Aurelia (in Rome), Meli Mexico Reforma (in Mexico DF) and Meli

White House (in London). Its properties in Asia include Gran Meli

Jakarta, Meli Bali (incorporating The Garden Villas), Meli Benoa (Bali),

Sol Lovina (Bali), Meli Purosani (Yogyakarta), Meli Panorama (Batam), and

Sol Elite Marbella (Anyer) in Indonesia; Meli Hanoi in Vietnam; Meli

Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia; Meli Hua Hin and Sol Twin Towers (Bangkok) in

Thailand. Sol Meli has signed contracts to take-over and manage a further

60 hotels by the year 2002.
