Rotana Egypt properties to open shortly

The Rotana Group of Hotels, the Middle East’s first independent hotel chain, is delighted to confirm the imminent opening of its first two recently acquired resort properties in Egypt.

The ‘Coral Beach Tiran’, a unique addition to the Rotana family will open in June 2000. Located in the popular tourist destination of Sharm El-Sheikh and set in a tourist village development in the Sharks Bay area, this 90 000 square metre property boasts 370 spacious rooms and chalets in beautifully landscaped surroundings. The resort offers a speciality seafood restaurant and main dining room as well as a shisha corner, lobby bar café, beer garden and poolside snackbar. Every recreation need is catered for with three outdoor swimming pools, a beach, diving and watersports centre, fully equipped fitness centre, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room.

The ‘Coral Beach Al-Arish’ will open in July 2000, located 20 km from the city of Al-Arish and 70 kilometres from Gaza, facing the calming waters of a man-made lagoon with a kilometre long beachfront on the Mediterranean sea and commanding over one million square metres of land. Phase I accommodation comprises 55 spacious suites and chalets all with sea and lagoon view. The resort offers a speciality restaurant, main dining room, lobby bar café, shisha corner and poolside snackbar. Excellent meeting facilities are available making it an ideal location for international incentive groups.

Mr Selim El Zyr, President & CEO of Rotana Hotels, Suites and Resorts commented that ‘tourism in Egypt is now at a peak and it is an exciting time for Rotana to move into the resort market with two diverse new properties in such a booming tourist destination’. He added that several other properties in Egypt are under consideration and will be announced in due course.
