BASS HOTELS & RESORTS APPOINTS PATRICK IMBARDELLI AS VICE PRESIDENT, MARKETING - ASIA PACIFIC

(Singapore, May 16, 2000) - Bass Hotels & Resorts (BHR), owner of the

Inter-Continental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Express by Holiday Inn and

Staybridge Suites brands has appointed Patrick Imbardelli as Vice President

Marketing for its Asia Pacific division. He will be based in Singapore,

reporting directly to Richard Hartman, Managing Director, Asia Pacific of

Bass Hotels & Resorts.

As Vice President Marketing, Imbardelli will oversee the management and

implementation of marketing/sales strategies, brand marketing, advertising

and promotional programmes for the company's hotel brands in the Asia

Pacific region, as well as provide input to the development team in support

of Bass's growth strategy in the region. In his new role, Imbardelli will

work closely with regional and hotel marketing and sales management and

staff, providing on-going direction on marketing and sales plans and

strategies to stimulate business and increase room night sales.

Prior to his new position, Imbardelli was based in Sydney as Deputy Chief

Operating Officer for Southern Pacific Hotel Corporation (SPHC).

With 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Imbardelli started

his career in 1980 with Hilton International and moved on to join SPHC in

1988. In 1986, he was voted 'Young Executive of the Year' by The Bulletin

magazine and in 1991, he was named 'General Manager of the Year' of the SPHC

Group. Imbardelli is a graduate of the School of Hotel Administration at

Cornell University and also holds a Masters of Business Administration from

the same institution.
