BASS ANNOUNCES NEW SENIOR APPOINTMENTS

 (SINGAPORE, 15 MARCH, 2000) - Bass Hotels & Resorts (BHR) today

announced the following senior appointments:

REY ALCOCER joins BHR as Vice President, Total Quality Management

effective 15 March, 2000. Alcocer was previously with Starwood Hotels

as Director, Quality and Product Standards. In his new capacity,

Alcocer will drive the Total Quality Management (TQM) process,

integrating customer feedback vehicles and other TQM tools. He will be

responsible for injecting TQM as a way of business amongst BHR's

hotels to drive improvements in guest service and product quality. In

addition, he will work closely with marketing and operations

management in the region to implement standards and services. Alcocer

will be based in Singapore and report to Richard Hartman, Managing

Director, Asia Pacific, BHR.

WOLFGANG GRIMM has been appointed Vice President, Operations Support

effective 13 March, 2000. He transfers to the Asia Pacific

headquarters from his previous posting as Regional Vice President and

General Manager of Grand Inter-Continental Seoul. In his new role,

Grimm will provide operational support for all Asia Pacific hotels.

His initial responsibilities will focus on operating and physical

standards relating to each of the BHR brands in the region. Grimm will

be based in Sydney and report to Richard Hartman.

GERD KOIDL has been appointed Vice President, Food & Beverage Services

effective 15 March, 2000. In his new position, Koidl will be

responsible for directing and developing food and beverage concepts

for all brands with initial emphasis on repositioning food and

beverage for the Holiday Inn Brand. He will work closely with

Regional Operations Heads, General Managers and Food and Beverage

Directors within Asia Pacific to design new concepts, menus, and

initiatives to drive improvements in food and beverage revenues at the

hotel level. Koidl will be based in Singapore and report to Richard

Hartman.

TONY ZAMORA has been appointed Vice President, Operations - Korea

effective 15 March, 2000. Zamora will serve as country manager for all

company managed and/or owned hotels in Korea while concurrently

serving as General Manager of Grand Inter-Continental and overseeing

the new COEX Inter-Continental in Seoul. In this capacity, Zamora

will direct all operations to maximize profitability and return on

investment for all BHR hotels in Korea. He will identify future

prospects for distribution and will manage all relationships with

owners, principal correspondents, and hotel management staff to

optimize relationships, the value of BHR brands and services, and

ensure compliance with quality and operational standards. Zamora will

be based in Seoul and report to Richard Hartman.

PAUL DAVIS has joined BHR as Vice President, Technical Services

effective 1 March, 2000. Davis was formerly with Southern Pacific Hotel

Corporation (SPHC) where he was Director, Technical Services. In his

new role, he will direct all engineering and technical services

activities for the Division including investment due diligence, capital

planning, design, engineering, construction and project accounting. He

will ensure high quality, structurally safe designs and standards for

all properties which will be consistent with the strategy of each of

BHR's brands within the region. Davis will be based in Singapore and

report to Edmond Ip, Senior Vice President Development & Technical

Services, BHR.

BILL EDWARDS has been appointed Director, Asset Management effective 1

February, 2000. Edwards rejoins the group and in his new capacity,

will develop and direct the asset management program for the existing

owned and leased portfolio in Australia, New Zealand and the South

Pacific to optimize real estate returns and drive brand equity. He

will also provide on-going analysis of the current portfolio and

direct asset management activities relating to new portfolio deals,

joint ventures, acquisitions, expansions and/or repositioning to

ensure consistency with business objectives, and projected returns.

Edwards will be based in Sydney and report to Tony South, Chief

Operating Officer Australia, New Zealand, South Pacific, BHR.
