Travel News Asia Date: 8 July 2000

Negotiations between Air Canada and the Air Canada Pilots Association (ACPA) are resuming today and are expected to continue throughout the weekend.

In view of the ongoing talks, ACPA has not given the Company notice of intent to strike. According to Canadian labour law, a union must give 72 hours notice prior to taking any strike action.

Air Canada advises its customers that it is firmly focused on negotiating a settlement without disruption to its operation.

Air Canada will not be commenting further on the discussions and the Company does not expect to make further announcements with regards to these ongoing talks on Saturday or Sunday.
