FIRST OF ITS KIND IN THAILAND THE WESTIN BANYAN TREE OFFERS WIRELESS INTERNET CONNECTION AND 24 HOUR SUPPORT FROM HOTEL'S OWN CYBER TROUBLESHOOTERS

Travel News Asia Date: 5 October 2000

The Westin Banyan Tree Bangkok is pleased to be the first hotel in Thailand to introduce wireless internet connection for all hotel guests. From November 2000, guests can experience "Internet Anywhere" with the Maginet Laptop Connect (MLC) Broadband WLAN ( Wireless Local Area Network ), a powerful, high speed and "always on" network solution.

Using either a Wireless LAN card or a standard Ethernet LAN card, guests can access "internet anywhere" in the hotel where an Access Point is available. This enables the guest to move around the hotel and bring his or her work along.

Imagine up to 11mbps of sizzling fast , secure and robust connections - in the guest room, in meeting rooms, conference areas in the lobby lounge, even by the poolside.

"As a business hotel, we are constantly on the drive to serve our business travelers better by providing excellent guest services and products. MLC Broadband WLAN offers productivity, service, convenience and cost advantages over traditional wired networks. All guests need is a laptop and either Wireless LAN card or Ethernet LAN card and they can just plug and play" explains Mr. Andrew Jessop, General Manager of The Westin Banyan Tree.

The hotel also offers a team of cyber-troubleshooters, more appropriately known as ROM Service team, for all guests when they experience any difficulties with computer setups, hardware and software.
