Wyntrac Taps Pegasus Solutions for Group Reservations Processing Agreement to Provide Wyntrac with Direct Reservations Connections to Hotels

Travel News Asia Date: 4 July 2000

Dallas-based Pegasus Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: PEGS) today announced it has signed an agreement with Wyntrac, L.L.C. for group reservations processing. Wyntrac is scheduled to implement Pegasus’ group reservations processing capability during the third quarter of 2000. Plano, Texas-based Wyntrac is a leading events application software provider for the meetings and conventions industry. Pegasus Solutions is a leading provider of hotel industry transaction processing solutions and electronic commerce services.

The agreement allows for the integration of Wyntrac’s signature software, WYNTRAC®, with the Pegasus Electronic Distribution system, which will result in a seamless end-to-end reservations solution for group business with direct reservation connections to potentially thousands of hotels.

“This association with Pegasus presents a tremendous opportunity for Wyntrac,” said Michael Foster, executive vice president of Wyntrac, LLC. “We have always admired the reputation and central position that Pegasus has in the hotel industry and feel this relationship will assist us in reaching a majority of our targeted markets. Offering this ground-breaking technology to the industry with the support of Pegasus is a very exciting step for our organization.”

Pegasus’ system can be connected to reservations systems used by convention and visitor’s bureaus and other group housing providers, such as Wyntrac, to make group reservations and electronically transmit rooming information to the event hotels. WYNTRAC’s direct, two-way communication coupled with Pegasus’ system will give event organizers and attendees significantly greater control over event planning, including hotel reservations, cancellations and arrival/departure changes. In addition, the system provides housing managers, meeting planners and hotel staff with real-time access to information, providing all parties with the current status of room blocks.

“Both Wyntrac and Pegasus remain steadfast in their commitment to using advanced technology to create a standard for automating group housing reservations for hotels and housing providers worldwide, and Wyntrac’s software offering is no exception,” said Bill Lush, executive vice president, corporate development for Pegasus Solutions. “This agreement with Wyntrac is beneficial for Pegasus’ hotel customers because it provides them with direct access to yet one more distribution channel – the burgeoning meetings and conventions market.”
