Royal Orchid Sheraton Introduces Wireless Internet Access

Travel News Asia Date: 29 August 2000

The 33rd Asean conference at the hotel was the ideal time for Royal Orchid Sheraton to go live with Wireless Internet Access in the morning of July 24th.

All conference areas and most public areas are now covered for wireless Internet access with guests able to connect up while having their meals or just over a drink in the bars. Rudi Scherb, General Manager, states that there has been demand for this product and Royal Orchid wanted to be the first to provide this service to the predominantly MICE clientele.

Royal Orchid Sheraton also has undertaking the massive task of gearing up the property to ensure full wireless coverage for all areas of the hotel, including guest rooms and all public areas.

Setting up is a breeze, just plug in the card to your notebook and all is set automatically, just surf straight away. No will complain about the price as well, for the introductory price of 200 baht*, guests will be able to get high-speed Internet access for an hour with the full flexibility of choosing where they want to work.

So far, all the responses have been very encouraging and they are well on their way to fulfil their comprehensive “Technology Service Guarantee”. This is a Royal Orchid Sheraton initiative that provides guests with every conceivable IT service within the property, whether guests want computer support, CD’s duplicated, create CD business cards or want something purchased on their behalf from nearby technology malls.

To add further value, Royal Orchid Sheraton has a 24-hour cyber centre with meals and technology trained staff to cater to guests’ needs. The hotel has also embarked on another first in the world, a computer training school for rank and file staff to empower them and offer greater opportunity.

Just another reason why the Royal Orchid Sheraton is on its way to become the most impressive MICE destination in Thailand.
