The Oberoi Group and Air France Announce New Partnership

The Oberoi Group and Air France today announced a partnership between Frequence Plus and participating hotels of The Oberoi Group. Frequence Plus is one of the world’s leading airline travel programme. Continuing the Oberoi tradition of providing greater value to guests, Oberoi Hotels & Resorts and Trident Hotels have joined hands with Frequence Plus to deliver higher guest benefits, with effect from 1st October, 2000.

As a special offer, Frequence Plus members all over the world can now earn 500 miles for a room or 1000 miles for a suite per stay, at participating Oberoi Hotels and Resorts property worldwide. Members also earn 500 miles per stay at any of the participating Trident Hotels. Frequence Plus miles can be redeemed for free flights or upgrades on Air France and with programme partners which have a burn option and for stays at Oberoi Hotels and Resorts.

Membership of Frequence Plus is open to anyone over the age of 12 living in a country where Frequence Plus applies. With the launch of this international programme in October 2000, about two million Frequence Plus members will earn miles each time they stay at any of The Oberoi Group Hotels participating property.

The partnership allows members tremendous flexibility to earn tickets to virtually anywhere in the world, thanks to our ‘Sky Team’ partner airlines. Air France has 12 flights a week from Mumbai and Delhi and with a daily flight from Mumbai next summer onwards, our corporate guests would find the offer irresistible.” He added.

According to Ms. Ragini Chopra, Vice President, Corporate Communications and Business Development, The Oberoi Group, “The partnership with Air France’s Frequence Plus programme is a extension of our efforts to partner with East and West bound carriers, providing better value to our guests and enhancing our brand awareness in the principal markets of these regions.”

Strategic alliances such as this will allow both the airline and us in providing greater value to our guests,” she added.

Air France is one of the world’s leading airlines with sales of Euros 10.3 billion and a fleet size of 224 aircraft flying 1200 daily flights to 281 destinations across the world. Frequence Plus is the leading airline travel reward programme of Air France, where about 2 million members can earn miles by flying on Air France or on other SkyTeam member airlines like Korean Air, Delta Airlines and Aero Mexico or by using any of the programme partner services (including hotels, car rentals and credit card companies).

The Oberoi Group, founded in 1934, operates in six countries with 32 properties, including the luxury Oberoi Hotels and Resorts and the superior first class Trident Hotels.
