SIA will be launching an Auto Ticketing facility for services to Kuala Lumpur starting from today.

The SIA Auto Ticketing machine, costing about $1 million, is a joint development between SIA and IBM. The cost of the hardware alone is almost $200,000.

Customers travelling to Kuala Lumpur will be able to buy their tickets from the Auto Ticketing machine using their credit cards. This machine is conveniently located at Row 12, which is the centre of the SIA shuttle ticket sales counter.

"This facility will allow our customers another option to purchase their tickets with minimal waiting time and greater ease," said SIA Senior Vice-President Marketing Services, Mr Yap Kim Wah.

The SIA Auto Ticketing machine allows our customer to choose from four different language options, namely: English, Malay, Mandarin, and Tamil.

To enhance the convenience to SIA customers, this facility will be opened 24 hours daily.
