Delta Air Lines Begins Codeshare Service To Kiev With Global Partner Air France

Travel News Asia Date: 21 June 2000

Delta Air Lines has begun codeshare service between Paris and Kiev, Ukraine with its global alliance partner Air France. The round-trip flights will operate five times a week aboard Air France Boeing 737 aircraft.

From Charles de Gaulle International Airport, Delta Flight 8518 departs at 9:55 a.m. and arrives in Kiev at 2:05 p.m. The return flight departs Kiev at 3:05 p.m., arriving in Paris at 5:20 p.m.

Delta and Air France continue to expand their global alliance relationship using Charles de Gaulle International Airport, the only sizeable European hub airport which can expand meaningfully in the coming years.

Air France, operating a network of 174 destinations in 85 countries (excluding codeshare flights), is well established in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia as well as in the Americas, where it operates more than 14 direct daily flights, plus the Concorde. It also has a predominant position in the French market, Europe’s largest domestic market.

Delta’s goal is to become the #1 airline in the eyes of its customers, flying passengers and cargo from anywhere to everywhere. Passengers already choose to fly Delta more often than any other airline in the world, and the carrier was named "Best-Managed Major Airline" in 1999 by Aviation Week & Space Technology magazine. Customers have access to a global network of 5,360 flights each day to 356 cities in 57 countries on Delta, Delta Express, Delta Shuttle, the Delta Connection carriers and Delta's Worldwide Partners.
