Catch - The New Look

Penang Mutiara Beach Resort is proud to announce the opening of The Catch on 1st October 2000, the islands only conference and meeting venue located right at the beachfront.

Taking their names after seashells, the three meeting rooms; Irus, Limidae and Mitridae, all offer natural lighting with panaromic views as well as individual breakout rooms, affording a truly unique facility with first class hospitality.

Being an extension of the ballroom, The Catch is furnished with the same natural colour schemes of soft lime wash pink giving it an airy, contemporary feel whist maintaining the elegance that one would expect from a leading hotel of the world. Organisers hosting their events will certainly be delighted with the natural warm lighting and comfortable ambience, due mainly to the scenic view of the beachfront and lush green gardens.

Irus and Mitridae share the same dimension of 162 sq. metres with both rooms accommodating up to 140 guests in a cocktail setting or 120 for theatre style respectively. Other layouts include classroom style for 50 persons, boardroom for 34 and a comfortable 46 delegates for a u-shaped or hollow square arrangement. Private dinner or larger banquets all with innovative theme parties can also be arranged with wonderful night settings overlooking the beach and sea.

The Limidae room is the largest amongst the three meeting rooms. With 216-sq. metres in dimension, it can take a maximum of 210 guests for a cocktail reception, 182 for theatre sitting and 72 in a classroom setting. For dinner banquets, 15 round tables of ten can easily be fitted in whilst boardroom and u-shape or hollow square can accommodate up to 62 and 46 guests respectively.

All rooms have a choice of breakout rooms, which can further accommodate between 16- 48 persons ranging from various set-ups such as cocktail, boardroom and sit-down dinners.

Also recently enjoying a thorough refurbishment was the resorts Mutiara Ballroom and five Captain Rooms which were all completed on September 1, 2000. The refurbishment has given the venue a complete face-lift including new carpets, wallpaper and sound proofed partitions.

To complement the brand new look, a whole range of technical equipment was also newly purchased, including additional overhead projectors, slide projectors, direct projectors, LCD projector, motorized projection screen, new multi system televisions, portable projection screens, lectern with reading light microphone and amplifier, episcope, video players, 16 channel power mixer, collar and cordless microphones and VCD player.
