AMERICAN AIRLINES JOINS WITH ORIGINS TO CREATE NEW FIRST AND BUSINESS CLASS AMENITY KITS

American Airlines and Origins, the makers of premium skin care products for men and women, today announced that they are joining to develop enhanced inflight amenity kits for Americans international customers.

The Origins in-flight "Spa" amenity kits will be distributed before departure starting September 1 to all first class and business class passengers on Americans flights between the United States and Europe, Japan and certain points in South America. American is the first airline in the world to feature Origins products.

Presented in a distinctive nylon bag, the Origins kits feature an inner compartment to hold the skin care products, a toothbrush and toothpaste. The upscale Origins products offered in the kits include "Mint Wash" facial cleanser, "Sprinkler System" instant refreshment for your face (first class only),"Urgent Moisture" instant relief for super dry skin, "Lip Remedy" and "Origins Blade Runner" energizing shave cream and razor will be available upon request. Packaged with them is a brochure describing the products.

As part of the Origins program, American has also upgraded many other amenity kit items. These include eyeshades, socks, earplugs, 3-ply facial tissues, and the addition of breath mints

"We are proud to be offering our first class and business class customers the quality of Origins products," said Veronica Lopes, Americans managing director of inflight products. "Along with other enhancements like DVD video players and Bose Acoustic Noise Cancelling headsets, its all part of an ongoing effort to make the travel experience more enjoyable.

According to Roberta Weiss, Origins vice president of marketing worldwide, "Airline travel should be a relaxing start, or end, to a trip. It is our mission at Origins to address both the body and the mind, and these products were selected to provide peace and comfort to our passengers."

American operates international flights from U.S. gateways at Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Miami, New Yorks Kennedy Airport, Boston, Los Angeles, San Jose, Calif., Newark, Raleigh-Durham, and Seattle.

The flights featuring the Origins kits serve these international points:

In Europe: London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Stockholm, Birmingham and Manchester in the U.K., Brussels, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Madrid, Milan, Zurich, Frankfurt and, Rome.

In South America: Lima, Peru; Caracas, Venezuela; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Santiago, Chile; Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Quito and Guayaquil, Ecuador; Bogota and Cali, Colombia; and La Paz, Bolivia.

In Japan: Tokyo and Osaka.
