Hot, Value-Added Packages at Regent International Hotels Will Cool Travellers’ Heels This Summer, With Many Available Throughout 2000

Packages are available at Regent International Hotels in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Mumbai, Singapore, Taipei, Beverly Hills and New York throughout the summer, while some run through December 2000. All rates are based on double occupancy and are subject to tax and service charges. The following is just a sampling:

The Regent Bangkok’s “Best Buys” is tailored for those who can’t resist the fantastic bargains and extraordinary dining this exotic city offers. The package includes accommodations in an oversized Superior room; daily American breakfast for two; round-trip airport transfer via Mercedes Benz; welcome tea and daily fruit basket; and complimentary, 24-hour access to the health club and spa. The package is valid through December 29, 2000 and is priced at US$200 per room, per night, based on double occupancy. Additional nights are available at US$158 per night (double occupancy) and include breakfast. A two-night minimum stay is required.

Traditional Thai architecture, hand-painted silk ceilings, intricate artwork and glorious gardens grace this exquisite hotel, situated in the shopping heart of Bangkok.

Simultaneous indulgence for two describes The Regent Resort Chiang Mai’s four night “Lanna Spa Romance Package” package, tailored for couples. The package includes eight hours of spa treatments (four two-hour sessions for two persons) in a palatial double-treatment suite; candlelit dinner for two on one evening of guests’ choice (beverages not included); luxurious accommodations in a Mountain View Pavilion Suite; a full American breakfast daily; local fresh fruit and newspaper daily; a welcome drink, jasmine garland and cold towel on arrival; private round-trip airport transfers; and a complimentary spa gift. Treatments are inspired by ancient Thai rituals that incorporate herbs, spices and aromatic oils indigenous to the region. This package is available through September 30, 2000 and is priced at US$1,720.

The Regent Hong Kong celebrates its 20th anniversary with its “Summer 2000 Celebration Package.” The package requires a two-night visit and offers a Superior Harbourview room; daily breakfast for two; and US$52 (HK$400) in hotel credit per two-night stay. The price of this package is US$260 (HK$2000) for single or double occupancy and is available until September 15, 2000.

The Regent Hong Kong’s “As You Like It Package” gives guests their choice of harbourview, as well as generous hotel credit (one of the package offerings). Guests may select from any category of harbourview accommodations and apply approximately US$130 (HK$1,000) per room, per day in hotel credit towards anything from meals and beverages to airport transportation, private spa services, telephone charges, laundry/valet services and goodies from the property’s Chocolate Café. Daily American breakfast for two is included in the price. Harbourview Rooms begin at approximately US$487 (HK$3800) per night, +13% tax and service. The “As You Like It” Package is available through December 30, 2000.

The Regent Hong Kong, in the heart of Kowloon’s prime shopping, business and entertainment district, has been cited by numerous travel polls as the world’s top hotel for business and leisure. Its unique waterfront location features panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island.

A “Great Value” rate awaits those preferring to travel a la carte at The Regent Kuala Lumpur. The approximately US$66 (RM $250) per room, per night rate includes accommodations in a Deluxe room and complimentary access to the Health Club. This offer is available through December 31, 2000.

Rooms with sweeping views, five restaurants and bars, an outdoor pool and a 10,000 square-foot health club and spa are among the 468-room Regent Kuala Lumpur’s amenities. The hotel is set within the city’s Golden Triangle, the Malaysian capital’s commercial nucleus.

The Regent Mumbai treats its guests to a glorious weekend of great value in its “Weekend Package.” Included are daily breakfast for two, 24-hour personal butler service and roundtrip airport transfers. Available until September 30, 2000, the cost is US$175 per two-night (minimum) stay.

Visitors who are interested in the variety of entertainment and cultural activities that are in close proximity to The Regent Beverly Wilshire will want to purchase the hotel’s special “Millennium Medallion Package.” The package includes a two-night stay and value added amenities which include US$100 in credit to spend within the hotel or for VIP passes to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, access to a choice of local museums and galleries and a limited edition, commemorative collector’s Millennium Medallion. The special rate for this two-night package is US$1050, a savings of over US$600.

Also known as the “Pretty Woman” hotel for its role in the 1991 blockbuster movie, The Regent Beverly Wilshire is located in the heart of Beverly Hills, where Wilshire Boulevard meets fashionable Rodeo Drive. An extensive health club and full-service spa and an Italian villa-styled swimming pool are among its amenities.

The Regent Las Vegas is giving guests a reason to indulge with its “Summer Spa Retreat” package, available through August 31, 2000. The offer includes two nights superior accommodations, breakfast for two daily and two spa treatments (one facial and one massage), as well as daily complimentary use of the fitness centre. A two-night stay is required and the package is priced at US$299, based on double occupancy.

The Regent Las Vegas features two luxurious towers - The Spa tower, with 286 rooms and suites and The Palms tower with 255 rooms and suites - anchored at the south and west ends of the 54 hectare property, respectively. The resort’s 40,000 square-foot health spa, Aquae Sulis, a 50,000 square-foot casino, eclectic collection of restaurants and the 10 area golf courses offer guests a myriad of activities.

Travellers who think they’ve “been there and done that” just may discover how wrong they really are as The Regent Wall Street celebrates its first summer in Manhattan. Its “Been There, Done That!” weekend rate (arrivals on Friday or Saturday only) offers a greatly reduced nightly rate of just US$200 per room, or US$250 per room, including a full breakfast for two. Either rate may be combined with a variety of luxury tours, including a private yacht cruise with a champagne picnic, individual visits with contemporary artists, and exploring the culinary traditions of SoHo, Little Italy and Chinatown. The tours give Regent guests a sampling of the new energy emerging in Manhattan’s cornucopia of downtown neighborhoods. Tour prices begin at US$750 per person. The package is available through December 31, 2000.
