NEW LOOK SET FOR AUTUMN LAUNCH

Travel News Asia Date: 19 June 2000

Additional rooms also under construction

Dubais only integrated resort is to undergo a full scale renovation of rooms in its 257-room main building this summer, adding a bright new look and modern ambience to the Jebel Ali Hotel & Golf Resort.

The main hotel building will close for the summer to enable work to proceed without interruption, with a reopening date scheduled for October 1, 2000.

In addition, a sixth building will be added to the Palm Tree Court with 24 deluxe rooms - opening date is set for December 1, 2000.

During this period, the hotel will continue to operate its 120-room Palm Tree Court as well as all recreational facilities including three pools, the Club Joumana sport & fitness centre, the Golf Course, Shooting Club plus restaurants and bars.

According to general manager Mohamed S Geziry, the new rooms will complete expansion plans at the resort which began two years ago with the opening of the deluxe Palm Tree Court extension, followed by launch of the resorts own nine-hole Golf Course 18 months ago.

In addition, 15 Royal Peacock rooms introduced last year on the fifth floor of the main hotel building, double the size of standard rooms and offering a resort executive room option, complete with dedicated lounge, butler service, meet and greet service at the airport and a welcome drink, in addition to many other special amenities.

"When work is complete this autumn, we will have a hotel which can offer a complete range of room options to suit all tastes and budgets, plus the most extensive resort facilities in the Arabian Gulf region," said Geziry.

The Jebel Ali Hotel & Golf Resort is a member of "The Leading Hotels of the World".
