SWISSAIR INCREASES NON STOP FLIGHTS TO SIX PER WEEK BETWEEN HONG KONG AND ZURICH

Travel News Asia Date: 18 October 2000

Swissair will increase its number of non-stop flights to six per week between Hong Kong and Zurich starting November 4th, making a total of 10 flights a week including those operated under its codeshare agreement with Cathay Pacific.

The new schedule sees an additional flight (SR172) departing from Zurich to Hong Kong on Fridays at the regular time of 2040, returning the following day (Saturday) from Hong Kong to Zurich at 2335 (SR173).

Taking into account the additional flights under the Cathay Pacific codeshare agreement, Swissair now offers non-stop flights every day of the week, with two flights to Zurich on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Popular late night departure times out of Hong Kong have been maintained for passengers’ convenience.

The increase in flights offers greater flexibility for passengers to take advantage of Swissair’s enormous choice of onward connections to other parts of Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the USA from its Zurich hub.

Swissair’s focus on passenger individual attention and care remains paramount, and all passengers travelling on the Cathay Pacific codeshare flights will be given the option to collect points for either Asia Miles or Swissair’s “Qualiflyer” frequent flyer programme.

Swissair has been serving Hong Kong since 1957 and, together with Sabena, currently flies to 170 destinations worldwide. From November 4th, the airline will increase its schedule to six weekly Swissair flights and four code-share flights operated by Cathay Pacific, making a total of ten overnight flights per week on the Zurich-Hong Kong route.
