Last Minute Christmas Getaways to Danang, Vietnam Visas Available on Arrival

A new twice-weekly direct service between Hong Kong and Central Vietnams gateway city of Danang which will be launched this Friday, December 22 offers a series of great value, last minute getaways to those looking for a beachside escape this Christmas.

The direct air service, operated by Vietnam-based Pacific Airlines, is the first regular scheduled service between the two destinations since before the Vietnam War, and is expected to dramatically increase tourism to Central Vietnam from Hong Kong.

The new twice-weekly service departs Hong Kong for Danang every Friday and Monday morning at 0800 hours (arriving Danang at 0830 hours) and returns from Danang to Hong Kong every Sunday and Thursday evening at 1930 hours (arriving Hong Kong at 2200 hours). The Friday to Sunday schedule will make Danang an especially attractive option for long weekend breaks from Hong Kong to Danang, which is only a 75-minute flight. (There is a one-hour time difference between Danang and Hong Kong).

To coincide with the launch of these new direct flights, the luxury Furama Resort Danang located on Vietnams famous China Beach - is offering a series of inclusive packages which will be available from December 22, 200 to December 31, 2001.

The first is a 2 night/3 days package is priced at HK$3,980 (twin share) or HK$4,780 (single) the first of which departs this Friday, December 22 at 0800 hours (arriving Danang at 0830 hours) and returning December 24 at 1930 hours (arriving Hong Kong 2200 hours). The package includes return air tickets HKG/DAD/HKG on Pacific Airlines, two nights accommodation at the award-winning Furama Resort Danang with daily American breakfast and round-trip airport hotel transfers.

The second is a 3 night/4 day package is priced at HK$4,380 (twin share) or HK$5,480 (single) departing December 25 at 0800 hours (arriving Danang at 0830 hours) and returning December 28 at 1930 hours (arriving Hong Kong 2200 hours). The package includes return air tickets HKG/DAD/HKG on Pacific Airline, three nights accommodation at the Furama Resort Danang with daily American breakfast and round-trip airport hotel transfers.

Visas are available upon arrival at Danang International Airport with 24 hours notice. Passport details should be provided to the Furama Resort Danang including: name, passport number, date of issue, place of issue, nationality. The cost of a visa is US$25 plus a handling fee of US$5.00 This means that Hong Kong residents will be able to make last minute travel decisions to come to Danang, making it a convenient short break option.

The 200-room Furama Resort which opened in Spring 1997, is the first deluxe international resort in Vietnam.
