Management Associates The long-awaited visit of the world's most celebrated
dance company, the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE (ABT) will finally take place in
Singapore in September at the Kallang Theatre. Accompanied by the Singapore
Symphony Orchestra and conducted by ABT's resident conductor Charles Baker, the
programme is a mixed bill featuring George Balanchine's Theme and Variations,
Le Corsaire's Pas de Deux, Lar Lubovitch's Meadows and the 3 Act of Marius
Petipa's Don Quixote. Principal dancers in the tour will include the top ballet
primas of today: Susan Jaffe, Paloma Herrera, Julie Kent, Angel Corella, Irina

- The Young Musicians Society Ge
Tai will be the initiation of a cappella festival to promote Asian a cappella
music from 50s to the 70s. The audience will be treated to the experience of a
street hawker fare at the entrance of the building after which they will
proceed to watch the concert in the auditorium, which will also be decked out
with lanterns and props. The groups performing are encouraged to come dressed
in anything from sarong, kebayas, qi paos to glittering gowns and beehive hair

- Action Theatre The 1999 Pulitzer
Prize-winning play that has taken New York and London by storm, will have its
Asian Premiere in Singapore. A heartbreakingly funny play about Dr Vivian
Bearing, a renowned English professor who learns that intellectual brilliance
is not as important as courage to face the disintegration of her body.

The Second 42 Theatre Festival
