Summer Is In the Air at Northwest Airlines

Summertime and the living is easy. At least, it will be for Northwest Airlines customers who take advantage of the airline’s new summer fare sale that offers great deals for individuals and families to select destinations throughout the U.S. and Canada, and discounted fares to Asia.

Between now and June 30, 2000, travelers can catch big savings on adult fares and take advantage of great child fares for as low $49 each way based on roundtrip purchases for travel in North America. Travel can begin as early as June 27 and must be completed by September 6, 2000. A 30-day maximum stay applies to all destinations.

"Hire the kid next door to water the lawn and take in the mail, put your office clothes in mothballs for the duration," said Tom Bach, Northwest vice president – domestic revenue management. "Air fares like these are reason enough to take the whole summer off."

Travel is not permitted on Sunday to most destinations and fares to most destinations require a Saturday night stay.

Fares require a 14-day advance purchase and tickets must be purchased not later than June 30, 2000. Up to two child/companions ages 2-17 allowed per paying adult. Deepest discounts are available for travel from Tuesday through Wednesday to most destinations. Sale fares for travel on days other than those specified are slightly higher.

Tickets are nonrefundable. Seats are limited and may not be available. Fares are subject to change. Some travel may be on other airlines. Other restrictions may apply.

Asia Travel

In addition to Northwest’s great deals for travel within North America, Northwest is also offering great deals on travel from the U.S. to Asia.

Fares to Asia must be purchased by June 30, 2000 and travel between July 1, 2000 and September 6, 2000. Lowest fares are valid for travel Monday through Thursday. Fares other days of the week may be slightly higher. Travel from the U.S. is not permitted August 11-14, 2000 and travel from Asia to the U.S. is not permitted August 4-7, 2000. Some travel may be operated by Air China or other Northwest Airlink / Northwest designated affiliate-partner flights. Other restrictions may apply.

Earn Triple WorldPerks Miles:

To celebrate the addition of more than 90 new flights to and from Northwest’s Memphis hub, between now and July 31, 2000, Northwest is offering triple WorldPerks miles for flight segments that originate, terminate or connect in Memphis.

Terms and Conditions:

•  Eligible travel includes all paid fare classes.

•  Passengers beginning, ending or connecting in Memphis will earn Triple Miles for each flight segment that includes Memphis.

•  A flight segment is defined as a take-off and landing.

•  Customers must register 7 days prior to travel and no later than July 24, 2000 by calling 1-800-508-2000 and entering registration number 7548.

•  You must be a WorldPerks member residing in the U.S., Canada or Mexico.

If you are not a WorldPerks member, you can enroll online.

•  Eligible flights are Northwest coded flights operated by Northwest Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines or Northwest Airlink.

•  Passengers are not eligible for multiple WorldPerks offers with the same qualifying roundtrip.
