Travel News Asia Date: 11 December 2000

Air Canada advises that due to forecasted severe winter storm conditions in Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal, it has cancelled, or will delay, over half of its morning flights for Tuesday, December 12. Customers with flights to or from Ottawa, Toronto or Montreal tomorrow morning are advised to check on the status of their flight prior to leaving for the airport by calling Air Canada and Canadian Airlines reservations at 1-888-247-2262; TTY: 1-800-361-8071.

Air Canada expects to resume normal operations by late Tuesday, December 12 and will substitute larger aircraft to accommodate affected passengers upon resumption of normal operations.

In order to facilitate changes to customers' travel plans, Air Canada has waived change fees on discount tickets for travel booked during the storm-related disruptions.

As the situation is constantly evolving, exact numbers of affected flights are not available. Air Canada will provide updates as required on the storm's impact to operations.
