InterContinental Hotels Group has appointed
Mohamed Sherbini as the new
general manager of the InterContinental Dar Al Tawhid Hotel Makkah, one of 21
hotels managed by the company in Saudi Arabia.
With over thirty years experience in the hotel business, Sherbini has spent over
half of his career working in Saudi Arabia, while also holding senior positions in
hotels in Egypt and Kuwait.
The InterContinental Dar Al Tawhid Hotel Makkah, with its prime location in front
of the Grand Mosque, offers unparalleled views of the holy site from the majority
of its rooms and suites.
The
Group has also promoted Mara Campi to director of global sales, Middle
East. Mara will now oversee the global sales team which was set up just over 18
months ago to support more than 3,300 hotels and resorts managed by InterContinental Hotels Group around the world, and boost outbound and
domestic business. Mara, who joined the company in 2000, has spent the past year as global sales
manager, UAE. Georgia Georgiou
has been promoted to global sales manager, UAE & Oman. Before joining the Global Sales office, Georgia was
overseeing business development for the two InterContinental, one Crowne
Plaza and two Holiday Inn hotels in Oman.. |
