Cendant's TRUST International launches Enhanced Voyager CRS 5.0

Travel News Asia 8 November 2004

TRUST International, a subsidiary of the Cendant Corporation and a global provider of reservation and distribution solutions for the hospitality and leisure industry, today announced the launch of Voyager CRS 5.0 - its Central Reservation System for the hospitality industry.

Through continual technological development and ongoing enhancements to the CRS platform, Voyager CRS 5.0 provides TRUST’s hotel clients with the functionality necessary to maximize performance in the global marketplace, without requiring large investments of time and money from the hotels themselves. Among the over 40 upgrades included in Voyager CRS 5.0, are a range of enhanced interfaces to online distribution channels, revenue management systems (RMS) and property management systems (PMS), plus improvements to data maintenance, yield management capabilities, business intelligence and software tools and modules.

Voyager CRS 5.0 offers hotel companies one of the most advanced, flexible, Web-based CRS systems available on the market. The enhancements are available to hotel clients for both the traditional full-service and self-service versions of the Voyager CRS system. As always, these enhancements will be made available to all customers immediately upon release. With the full service version, hotel clients can rely on TRUST’s experts to build and maintain their electronic distribution content across worldwide distribution channels. The self-service version gives a hotel group’s own operations department the sophisticated tools to control and maintain their distribution channels.

New features of Voyager CRS 5.0 include:

• Support and participation in the American Express Global Hotel Value Program (GHVP), also called AMEX dynamic rates, via Voyager GDS, allowing hotel customers access to the selected group offering the best available rate to all American Express agencies globally

• An automated interface to Expedia that greatly reduces hotel labor costs relative to using an extranet

• Interfaces to Revenue Management System (RMS) programs such as EazyRMS and Maxims for processing hurdle rates

• Enhanced connectivity between Voyager and WizCom EasyAccess Plus RateManager allows rates created in Voyager to propagate automatically to all four GDS and other distribution systems

• Powerful derived rates allow Voyager to dynamically calculate rate values from ‘base rates’

• Enhanced user interface in the Voyager hotel client application makes it simpler to learn and easier to use

• Enhanced connectivity to additional Property Management Systems (PMS)

• Enhanced interface to Worldres for onward distribution to over 2000 Internet channels including Yahoo and AOL

• Enhanced reporting technology for Voyager View

• Enhanced and modern look and feel of the front-end for clearer guidance and increased ease of use

“Voyager CRS 5.0 incorporates many new features based on feedback received directly from our customers at our semi-annual customer advisory board meetings. The enhanced interface capabilities to online distribution channels, PMS, and RMS further demonstrates Voyager’s key role in managing the complexity of global distribution for our hotel group partners,” said George Roukas, vice president, product development, strategy and operations, Cendant Travel Distribution Services. “We will continue investing in the ongoing development of Voyager, prioritized through a close working relationship with our Customer base to ensure Voyager CRS remains at the forefront of CRS technology.”
