All Abacus-connected travel agents are now able to use the Abacus-Group and
Abacus Claim-it solutions when they make group bookings on Northwest Airlines.
Northwest is one of the biggest non-partner
carriers to have signed up for the two automated booking solutions by
Abacus.
Major carriers, including Philippine Airlines, Garuda Indonesia and Asiana Airlines
are already successfully using Abacus-Group and Claim-it to streamline their
group booking processes.
Claim-It enables Abacus-connected travel agents to make active bookings and
manage their customers Passenger Name records (PNRs) directly off an airline's
reservation system.
"This brings enormous benefits to both the airline and travel agents," said Mr
Rogelio Sarreal, Vice President and Head of Associate Sales. "With real-time
seating information and booking confirmation, travel agents will have better
control of ticketing and follow-up servicing. Because they don't have to handle
PNRs, participating airlines enjoy significantly lower distribution and administration costs," said Mr Sarreal.
