Marriott opens first Courtyard in Belgium

Marriott International has opened its first Courtyard by Marriott branded hotel in Belgium. The seven-story, 191-room Courtyard by Marriott Brussels is located five kilometers from Brusselss National Airport and five kilometers from the city center. The general manager is Benno Busscher and Christophe Karkan is the senior sales manager.

Opening rates begin at EU149 (approx. $180 US) per night through the end of December, 2004.

The Courtyard by Marriott Brussels features WiFi (wireless internet access) in public areas and meeting spaces, a business center, on-site parking, information desk, gift shop, laundry valet service and rental car service. For recreation, the hotel provides a state-of-the-art health club with two saunas.

For dining and entertainment, the Courtyard by Marriott Brussels offers Zinc, a casual on-site restaurant, a cocktail lounge and a 24-hour grab-and-go food market.

For conferences and social events, the Courtyard by Marriott Brussels has 811-square meters of meeting space that comprises 12 individual meeting rooms in varying configurations.

There currently are more than 600 Courtyard hotels in 18 countries around the world, 56 of which are located outside the United States. Among Courtyard hotels scheduled to open over the next year are properties in the Port of Spain, Trinidad; Dubai Green Community, UAE; and Kauai, Hawaii in the USA.
