Virgin Atlantic announces senior management changes

Virgin Atlantic today announced a reallocation of responsibilities amongst its senior management following the resignation of Julie Robinson, Director of Customer Service. 

Effective from 1 June 2004, Paul Dickinson, the airline's Sales and Distribution Director, will become Customer Services Director and will be responsible for the Contact Centre, Airports, Inflight Services and Customer Services Training. Willy Boulter, Virgin Atlantic's Commercial Director will now take responsibility for Sales and Distribution in addition to Commercial, Revenue Management, Overseas and Commercial Systems. Paul Wait remains as General Manager of Sales and will report to Willy Boulter.

Paul Dickinson, newly appointed Customer Services Director, commented:

"I cannot think of a more exciting challenge than taking responsibility for Virgin Atlantic's Customer Service. I believe that we have an unmatched reputation for delivering an energetic, fresh and different attitude in everything we do. It is my intention to ensure that we build on these standards of excellence and make sure that our customers continue to choose Virgin Atlantic ahead of the competition."

Willy Boulter, Virgin Atlantic's Commercial Director, commented:

"I am delighted to be taking over responsibility for Sales and Distribution right now as we seem to be swinging into an upturn for the airline and for the aviation industry. Paul Dickinson and Paul Wait have built a professional and successful selling operation in the UK market that it will be a pleasure to sustain and develop further."

The E Commerce team, which are presently under Paul Dickinson's control, will report to Alison Copus, Director of Marketing.

Julie Robinson joined Virgin Atlantic as a Customer Services Agent at Gatwick Airport 19 years ago and has progressively risen to the top ranks of management.

"I would like to thank Julie for her contribution over 19 years of service. Julie has been key to the development of our customer service style and personality for which we have received so many awards. She has been one of the most respected members of the Virgin Atlantic team and we wish her every success in her new ventures."
