First hotel in Gulf region with Le Meridien's Art + Tech design concept opens in Kuwait

Travel News Asia 4 November 2004

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts has opened its first hotel in the Gulf region to feature the group’s Art + Tech design concept.

Le Méridien Tower Kuwait, a 70-bedroom boutique style hotel, is located just 15-minutes from Kuwait International Airport in the heart of the business district of Kuwait city and heralds a new era in Kuwait hospitality.

According to Hannes Yaghi, general manager of Le Méridien hotels in Kuwait: “Le Méridien Tower Kuwait is the first hotel in the region to introduce many cutting-edge concepts. We have incorporated three main design and technology features - the specially designed bed, bathrooms featuring free standing power showers with body jets and state-of-the-art technology such as plasma screen TV, DVD, VCD and CD’s.

“The design concept has also been extended into the public areas to create a contemporary, clutter-free environment. This sense of space and light is a revolution in hotel terms in Kuwait and one which we feel will give customers more choice when choosing where to stay in this city.”

Upon arrival, a dedicated Guest Service Manager escorts guests to their room. From then on, guests need only make a call to their Guest Service Manager, who will arrange anything they require during their stay.

Other facilities and services include wireless connectivity throughout the hotel, complimentary limousine airport pick-up, Cascade Restaurant with an open kitchen, a Newscafé in the lobby and a pool and health club.

The opening of Le Méridien Tower Kuwait follows the successful opening by Le Méridien of hotels featuring Art + Tech design in Vienna, Turin, Minneapolis and Hamburg.

“Currently there is nothing like this in the Kuwait market and we are convinced it will be as successful with our customers as it has been in other locations worldwide,” added Yaghi.

Rates depend on date of arrival starting from £112 per room per night excluding tax.
