Hawaiian Airlines slashes fares from Australia to Honolulu and neighbour Isles

Travel News Asia 3 August 2004

Hawaii has just become even more affordable for travellers from Australia, with Hawaiian Airlines introducing a range of discounted roundtrip fares from Sydney, starting at just A$849.

And together with leading travel wholesalers, Hawaiian is also offering four-night fly and stay holiday packages from as little as A$949 per person, twin share.

The A$849 roundtrip airfare to Honolulu is available for sale until 31 August. Tax of approximately A$145 is additional, and can fluctuate.

For just A$989, plus tax, passengers can travel beyond Honolulu to one of five neighbour islands – Maui, Kauai, Molokai, Lanai or The Big Island of Hawaii.

These airfares are available for travel from now until 8 December, or from 15 January until 28 February, 2005.

For those who want to travel in the peak period from 9 December until 14 January, there is also a roundtrip Sydney-Honolulu fare of just A$949 plus tax, and a fare to the neighbour islands of A$1089 plus tax.

A range of holiday packages also is available to the various neighbour islands of Hawaii - travel agents can provide specific details of the special deals on offer.

All fares must be booked and paid for by 31 August. Seats are limited at these prices and some conditions apply.

Hawaiian Airlines flies four times weekly from Sydney to Honolulu, using two-class Boeing 767-300ER twinjets.

Flight HA22 departs Sydney at 9.20pm on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, crossing the international dateline and arriving in Honolulu at 11.10am the same day.

“An evening departure from Sydney enables passengers from anywhere in Australia to connect on the same day with our outbound flight,” said Mr Scott Cammell, Hawaiian’s Sales and Marketing Manager, Australia.

“It also enables Sydney-based passengers to spend a day at work or at study or even just packing to leave for Hawaii.

“And with a late morning arrival into Honolulu, our passengers can arrive rested, check-in at their hotels and be on the beach by early afternoon - or they can continue quickly and conveniently on Hawaiian’s frequent onward flights to neighbour islands.”
