EIBTM’s Hosted Buyer Programme Exceeds Targets

Travel News Asia 30 August 2004

Reed Travel Exhibitions, organiser of EIBTM, the annual exhibition for the Incentive, business travel and meetings industry, has announced that its Hosted Buyer ® Programme for this year’s event, is set to exceed targets.

The event, which is taking place in Barcelona, Spain, 30 November - 2 December 2004, is expected to attract 5,000 visitors from over 100 countries and 2,000 exhibitors from every corner of the world. 3,000 of these 5,000 visitors will attend EIBTM on the Hosted Buyer ® Programme.

Debbie Jackson, Event Director of EIBTM says; “We are delighted with the response to the Hosted Buyer® programme this year, as we have found ourselves oversubscribed well in advance of schedule. This year we are working with over 150 group co-ordinators globally who are responsible for identifying the most influential buyers in their region. We have introduced stricter qualifications than in the past, reflecting our exhibitor’s need to meet with those top buyers with responsibility for organising international events. Buyers who qualify to attend as part of the Hosted Buyer® programme have to be able to demonstrate their level of purchasing authority, the amount of business conducted internationally, their annual budget for meetings and events, as well as potential for further business and the number of events held annually”

Jackson continued: “In order to ensure that EIBTM continues to deliver the highest quality of visitor to the exhibitor, we have also introduced new group co-ordinators in order to ensure that new buyers are brought to the event. The level of personal organisation that Hosted Buyers receive at EIBTM, which includes a personal, pre-scheduled appointment programme with exhibitors, access to seminars and to the Hosted Buyer® Lounge, plus free entry to all the EIBTM social functions means that top buyers want to do business at EIBTM.”
