SRS-WORLDHOTELS launches new GDS Master Chain Code - EW

Travel News Asia 30 November 2004

SRS-WORLDHOTELS has launched a new Global Distribution System Master Chain Code – EW – in an aim to make agents’ working lives that little bit easier.

“EW is an umbrella code, which provides agents with a gateway to the brands within our portfolio,” explains Nicole Bernthaler, Chief Marketing Officer of SRS-WORLDHOTELS. “In the case of SRS-WORLDHOTELS, where we have various private-label codes as well as the SR chain code, EW will be the master-key that opens the door to all our properties. It’s a new device which makes for great time savings when it comes to booking hotels”.

Under the old system, agents had to use different codes for different brands, but now all brands can be accessed via EW. When SRS-WORLDHOTELS add new hotel groups with their chain code, the travel agent will not need to learn a new code – simply use EW, and be directed to new properties.

“Agents love these umbrella codes, because they can call up the entire portfolio of a contract partner with just one entry,” says Nicole Bernthaler, Chief Marketing Officer of SRS-WORLDHOTELS. “And what is also great, is that we are now able to promote our hotel portfolio at chain and at individual brand level.”

The EW Code is available for immediate use.
