Starwood and Air China launch frequent flyer partnership

Travel News Asia 29 July 2004

Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide has signed a frequent traveler partnership with Air China. Members of Air China Companion, the frequent flyer programme of Air China, can now earn 800 base kilometers for all qualifying stays at over 750 Starwood hotels around the world.

Air China Companion members who are also members of Starwood's guest loyalty programme, Starwood Preferred Guest, can transfer Starpoints into their Air China account at a 1:1 ratio. Every transfer of 20,000 Starpoints benefits from a bonus of 5,000 kilometers.

In celebration of this partnership, Starwood is offering double kilometers to frequent flyer members of Air China Companion when they stay at any Starwood hotel from 16 August to 31 October 2004. This is in addition to the base 800 kilometers that Air China Companion members will earn for each qualifying stay.

"We are delighted to welcome Air China Companion members to Starwood hotels. Air China's network spans 132 cities domestically and 39 cities internationally, and is well aligned with Starwood's spread of 750 hotels across 80 countries," said Miguel Ko, President Asia-Pacific, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.

Ms. Zhang Chun Zhi, Deputy General Manager, Marketing & Sales for Air China commented, "We are very happy to have Starwood Hotels & Resorts as an Air China Companion partner. Their prestigious properties around the world add considerable value and opportunities for Air China Companion members, and further extend Air China Companion's global reach."
