Air Tahiti Nui appoints Craig Lee as Regional Director Australia

Travel News Asia 28 September 2004

Air Tahiti Nui has appointed Mr Craig Lee to the new position of Regional Director Australia, in readiness for the commencement of flights from Sydney in mid 2005.

Mr Lee previously spent 22 years with Air New Zealand in roles including Product and Pricing Manager Australia and Manager NSW/ACT. His new role is effective immediately.

Air Tahiti Nui (flight designator TN) is to introduce two weekly nonstop flights from Sydney to Papeete, commencing on 5 July next year.

The new nonstop flights will take to five the number of services from Australia by Air Tahiti Nui, which currently offers three weekly flights from Sydney to Papeete, via Auckland, through a code share arrangement with Qantas.

“Tahiti is one of the most beautiful locations in the world, and has always been a favourite destination for Australians,” said Mr Lee.

“Our new nonstop flights from Sydney will be the fastest and most convenient way to reach Tahiti from Australia, taking just over seven hours.

“Passengers also will be able to connect with onward flights to Los Angeles, Paris, and from July nonstop flights to New York.”

Air Tahiti Nui operates a modern fleet of long-range Airbus A340-300 aircraft seating 294 passengers in a comfortable three-class cabin – six in First Class, 24 in Business Class and 264 in Economy Class. Each passenger has a personal video screen and a choice of movies.
