Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts,
has signed a management agreement with the Dongguan Sanyuan Yinghui
Investment and Development Co. Ltd to operate a new deluxe hotel in Dongguan in mid 2007. Following Shenzhen, Zhongshan and Guangzhou
(opening early 2007), this will be the group's fourth hotel in China's
Guangdong Province in the Pearl River Delta.
The Shangri-La hotel is conveniently located in Wanjiang District of Dongguan city which is known as an international IT
products manufacturing base. It is within two hours drive from either Guangzhou,
Shenzhen or Hong Kong. The hotel will include 500 luxurious guest rooms
with a minimum floor space of 40 square metres. Wireless and broadband
internet access will be available in each room to meet the needs of
business travellers. All rooms will offer a host of Shangri-La's
amenities and services, such as 24-hour room service, same day laundry
and valet service, coffee and tea making facilities, data ports and
satellite TV. The Horizon Club will provide an exclusive retreat with
butler service, express check-in and check-out, and a Horizon Club lounge
for daily complimentary breakfast and cocktails.
Shangri-La Hotel, Dongguan will feature a variety of restaurants,
including lobby lounge, coffee shop, Chinese restaurant and innovative
specialty restaurant, all focusing on authentic foods and vibrant
atmospheres for both business and social dining. An exciting
entertainment centre concept will be open to in-house guests and local
residents.
Meeting and banqueting facilities will include a 1,500-square-metre grand
ballroom together with small to large scale function rooms. The hotel's other facilities will include a business centre and a health club. The hotel is
designed by Tokyo-based architect KKS International.
